Industrial Production in Germany Tanked in June

According to figures from June 2015, industrial production in Germany tanked, going against expectations. Figures showed that June had its worst month-on-month performance for the largest industrial base in Europe since August 2014.

Production fell 1.4% compared to May, going against the 0.4% analysts had expected. This leaves production up just 0.6%, much lower than the predicted 2.2% increase.

This news is surprising, as factory orders numbers released regarding June were extremely strong. This was the best monthly rise since 2014.

So what does this tell us? That the two figures aren’t exclusive. Factory order could be followed up in the months ahead with higher production.
