Plasma Cutting Machines and their Uses

Plasma cutting machines use a high speed jet of hot plasma to cut through materials like metal. They are incredibly quick and produce very accurate results, making them one of the most popular types of cutting machine on the market today.

How Plasma Cutting Works

Plasma cutting works by sending an electric arc through a gas (such as nitrogen, argon, or oxygen) passing through a constricted opening. This heats the gas to extremely high temperatures, turning it into plasma – the fourth state of matter. The resulting plasma jet can reach temperatures of up to 20,000°C, enabling it to cut through even the thickest metals.

Plasma cutters are used in a wide range of industries including automotive, construction, fabrication, and salvage operations. They can cut through steel, aluminium, brass, copper, and other conductive metals with ease.
