UK Car Manufacturing Industry Sees Stong Growth

According to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, the UK car manufacturing industry has seen it’s strongest growth in 6 years. This is despite a drop in production last month.

Over 1.1 million cars were produced between the months of January and September, which is a 0.6% increase on 2013’s figures. According to Mike Hawes, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders;

“The continued investment by the sector into new models means the September figures took a slight dip as some plants underwent re-tooling but it is these same new models which will help increase production volumes in the future”

This is all despite manufacturing falling 2.8% last month, compare to September 2013.
